Dean Hansen, born and raised in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, is a proud native with deep roots in the electrical industry. Following in the footsteps of his family, who have been involved in the electrical sector since 1972, Dean pursued his passions by studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Prince Edward Island.
With a solid educational background and a rich family legacy in the trade, Dean brings both expertise and tradition to every project he undertakes.
What is an angel investor?
Dean is an angel investor. An angel investor is an individual who provides financial backing to startups or small businesses, typically in exchange for ownership equity, convertible debt or repayment at a later date.
Unlike venture capitalists, who invest pooled funds from many investors, angel investors use their own money. They often invest in the early stages of a company’s development, when there is a higher risk but also the potential for significant returns.
Angel investors not only provide capital but may also offer their expertise, mentor- ship, and networks to help the business grow. They are called “angels” because they often step in to support companies that might otherwise struggle to secure funding.
