Islanders Helping Islanders

AI, automation and globalization are going to kill 30% of entry-level jobs by 2030. We need to get ahead of the problem. Universal Basic Income has been proposed. This is an alternative.

We have all heard of UBI (Universal Basic Income) which proposes to provide a guaranteed minimum income so that each recipient will be able to live comfortably. As lovely a goal as this is, the main obstacle is that each person will spend the money independently to achieve this lifestyle.

The natural inefficiency with this approach is that it doesn’t scale well. Our project proposes an alternative where instead of providing funds to achieve a comfortable lifestyle, we go straight to providing the lifestyle itself. Economists would describe this as “Economies of Scale”, meaning accomplish more with less resources.

We will post our plan for this implementation once we have finished developing it.
